Masters Amateur Boxing Division Canada
OLD SCHOOL IS BACK!

Masters Boxing Program
Ages 35 and up.

Want to get a great shape and have tons of fun at the same time?

The Red Deer Boxing Club offers a Masters (ages 35 & up) boxing program every Monday night from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  No experience necessary....we will teach you in a respectful, fun, non-intimidating, learn at your own pace environment.

Boxing is a total body work-out.  Get fit, lose weight and learn a practical form of self-defense at the same time. Learn to skip like a boxer, throw great punch combinations, learn how to hit the heavy bag and how to defend against a punch.  Think you're too old for boxing?  Not!!!! There are masters boxers in their 50's and 60's that still compete.

The introductory class is free.  Only $25.00 per month thereafter.  Equipment provided.  The club is open other nights during the week and your monthly fee allows you to participate during those nights if you desire.  Some of the masters boxers get together at other times as well but Monday's are the main night.

Bring your significant other with you and get fit together.

  - 7:00 to 7:30   Warm-up: Skipping, Warm-ups and Stretching
  - 7:30 to 8:00   Defensive Techniques: Parry, Slip, Weave & Blocking
  - 8:00 to 8:30   Offensive Techniques: Punching & Footwork
  - 8:30 to 9:00   Supervised Sparring  (Optional)

Sparring is optional but the opportunity to spar is there and you can even compete if that is what interests you.  We wear full headgear, mouthguards and large gloves when sparring.
Great Fun     Great Fitness     Great Friends

The Red Deer Boxing Club is the Headquarters for the Masters Amateur Boxing Association of Canada. MABA CANADA is not a boxing commission and does not sanction fights.  Our  purpose is to promote masters (35 & Up) boxing, highlight and connect masters boxers from across Canada and develop partnerships with Provincial and National boxing organizations and other supportive entities in order to achieve our purpose.  As interest and participation increases, we hope to see a Masters Division added to the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association.  In partnership with MABA USA we have adopted their Mission Statement:

MABA

MASTER AMATEUR BOXING ASSOCIATION

Mission Statement

The mission of the Master Amateur Boxing Association is to develop and advance the growth of the sport of Master Amateur Boxing through communication and education. To provide leadership in the promotion of Master Boxing events and the promotion of communication within the sport. The association will establish a platform for opinion exchange, the ability to promulgate proposed rules and provide recognition opportunities.

The following principles shall guide the MABA toward the attainment of these goals.

        1.   To maintain a membership population representative of all levels of competition.

        2.   To promote the sport of master boxing within the framework of education and  communication.

        3.   To encourage participation within the highest level of competition.

        4.   To develop greater interest, understanding and support of the sport of Master Amateur Boxing.
