Coaches

Head Coach: Robert Carswell Rob is the founder, team manager and president of the Red Deer Boxing Club. He has been involved in the sport of boxing for over 40 years. He has trained and managed numerous competitive boxers and served in the capacity of official, judge, referree and provincial board member.  Under Rob's tuteledge, members of the Red Deer boxing club have achieved numerous accolades. Amongst those achievements are: countless bronze, silver and golden glove championships, dozens of provincial and western Canadian championships, over 10 Canadian championships, Junior olympic medalists, olympic attendes, Commonwealth games atendees, 3 Junior world championships, 4 senior world championships, and others.

Keith Kenny, BSc. Keith started with the club in 1999, has coached since 2003 and is currently the club's Vice-President. He completed the National Coaching Certification Program level III in 2003 and is currently working on level 4.  Keith's coaching experience includes:         - Coach Lindsay Thurber Boxing Club 2002-2004.       - Cornerman, cutman, road manager and assistant trainer with. ........Seven Stars Preying Mantis Kung Fu Club from 2000-2008.       - Trainer/Coach with Team Caution (MMA) 2006-2008.       - Team manager for 2007 Canada Winter Games.       - Coach, 2002 Alberta Games.       - Coach 2004, 2005, 2006 Canadian Nationals.       - Co-coach, 2008 Olympic Training Camp.

Jim Kennedy

Jeff Grocock   Jeff has been boxing for over two years, with a primary focus as a coach.  He trains with his two sons at the club one who is competing as an amateur on a regular basis.

Dennis Trepanier   Dennis is has been volunteering as a coach at the Red Deer Boxing Club for the last 3 years.  Before taking an interest in boxing, he was involved in Kung Fu, Karate and has a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. Dennis also offers his coaching skills to the Masters Boxers at the club.
